William
M. Sligar, M.D.
William M. Sligar, M.D., is a
native of Indianapolis, Indiana. He received his Bachelors degree in Science
in 1968 and his degree in medicine in 1972 from Tufts University Medical School.
Post graduate training was obtained at Case Western Reserve University Hospitals
where he completed an internship and his residency. Dr. Sligar served as a
Lt. Commander in the U.S. Navy from 1977-
1979.
He was the Chief of Surgery in 1986, 1991 and 1994, President Elect of Medical
Staff in 1994 and 1995 and served as the Chief of Medical Staff in 1996 and
1997 all at Clark Memorial Hospital. He is certified by the American Board of
Orthopaedic Surgery and is a Fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons.
Dr. Sligar is a member of the Clark and Jefferson County Medical Societies,
Indiana and Kentucky Medical Association, Louisville and Indiana Orthopedic
Societies, American Academy of Orthopedic Surgery, the Mid-America Orthopedic
Association and a past member of the Indiana State Medical Association Sports
Medicine Commission.
